AvtoVAZ says hopes to occupy 10% of Uzbekistan's market
TASHKENT, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- Russian carmaker AvtoVAZ plans to produce 15,000 Lada Vesta NG cars in Uzbekistan per year and to occupy 10% of the market in the future, CEO Maxim Sokolov said Wednesday.
"We plan to resume output – the main thing is for our partners to be ready – at the level of 15,000 cars per year,” Sokolov said.
”Our target in general stands at 30,000 cars per year, which means 10% of Uzbekistan's market that amounts to 300,000 cars today, but this will not be only Lada Vesta. It will take several models, including Lada Granta."
AvtoVAZ plans to switch from semi-knock down to full car assembly gradually in the country, he said.
